A genuine, original and extremely rare Koevoet field name strip, printed in bold black lettering on multicam-style camouflage fabric. A raw, unfinished field item — the kind worn on the uniform by operators in the bush, not a parade-ground showpiece. Not a reproduction.

Koevoet (Afrikaans for 'crowbar') was the SADF's elite counter-insurgency unit operating in South West Africa (now Namibia) during the Border War. These subdued camo name strips were worn operationally in the field, making them among the most authentic and direct connections to the men who served.

Following the end of apartheid and Namibian independence, the unit was disbanded and most uniforms, insignia, and unit items were deliberately destroyed or lost. Field items like this name strip are among the rarest survivals of 20th century African military history — the units no longer exist. This is an original piece, not a replica.
